Cuipo is a social enterprise whose mission is to protect the world’s endangered rainforests whilst providing education and awareness programs that inspire individuals and organisations to care about these unique and precious ecosystems. The only truly effective way to protect these regions from exploitation is to own the land and protect it.
Unlike traditional, not for profit charities that wait until they have raised funds before embarking on doing good, Cuipo has decided to take action before raising any public money. We have already acquired title to (purchased) millions of square metres of rainforest in the Amazon and are working hard to get good title to endangered land in Panama.
We will in time be launching our new website and the UK version of the same and working with high profile individuals and companies on a range of exciting initiatives that will help us to generate funds to acquire and protect ever larger amounts of this unique habitat. Panama Green Fuels is a unique investment in a bio‐diesel feed source plantation in Panama; working with the Panamanian National Government to create long‐term, high quality rural employment and reduce national fuel importation dependency, whilst providing secure attractive long‐term returns for environmentally and socially conscious investors.
Our ultimate vision is to create a co-operative infrastructure of Jatropha plantations, resulting in over 100,000 hectares and employing local labour, trained by us. We also see refinery and recycling opportunities in the longer term.
This is an agricultural infrastructure investment that will take many years to come to fruition. But, in reality, if we are to tackle Climate Change then individuals and corporations need to take un-prompted action and after many years in the fossil fuels industry, this is our legacy.
